Tracy Chapman Cover: Music for NHS

I landed back in the UK, from Mexico (see blog post), a day before the national lockdown was announced last month. All my work has been cancelled; however, I’ve finally found some peace and optimism with everything that’s happening in the world right now. One thing I keep reminding myself is the gratitude I have for people that are doing their utmost to help others during this pandemic.

I recorded this cover of one of my all-time favourite songs ‘Fast Car’ by Tracy Chapman for a campaign called #MusicForHeroes – an initiative set up by www.helpthemhelpus.co.uk who are doing an incredible work to support the NHS staff.

I have to be honest – I’m having some good days, and some not so good days. All I know is that I want to make the most out of my time during lockdown, and I guess the journey starts here. In six months time, I want to look back and see growth and development in all aspects of my life. I want to learn new skills like video editing, and really focus on my DJ and musical skills.

In the meantime, lets enjoy this unique moment in our lifetime to slow down the pace of life. To give thanks to all the opportunities that have come our way, the people who have shaped us and the moments that have made us.

And to express our deep gratitude for the blessings and good times that will soon enough be knocking on our door once again.

One love x
